Murder Charge Dropped Against Burley Man
A charge of second degree murder has been dropped against a Burley man after a judge ruled there is not enough evidence in the case to convict. 24 year old Michael Thompson was arrested in December after a passenger in his pickup, 21 year old Michael Blair of Burley was found shot to death in Thompson’s pickup. Another passenger in the vehicle the day Blair was killed testified that Thompson had threatened to end the arguing between Blair and another passenger in the vehicle while holding a handgun. But when the gun went off, killing Blair, it was not certain who actually pulled the trigger. Minidoka County prosecutor Lance Stevens said he plans to file charges of involuntary manslaughter in the case.
