It still isn't winter yet according to the calendar, but that hasn't stopped the weather in Idaho from being cold, wet, and even icy and snowy at times. With the wacky weather, it is nearly impossible to stay fully healthy these days, but also with multiple diseases going around, it is unlikely to avoid them all. With the best way to avoid picking anything up being on lockdown in your house, and that being an unlikely option for most, it might be time to pull out and dust off those dreaded masks that you were forced to wear against your will not long ago.

As holiday shopping continues, more and more people fill the stores than usual. It doesn't matter if it is the mall, the grocery store, a major store, or a smaller one, they are all more crowded as people continue to be out and about preparing for the holidays. The more people out, the more diseases that can be spread. It seems like many people are sick these days, but nobody seems to have the same thing. COVID, RSV, colds, stomach bugs, the flu, and more are making the rounds. While it is inevitable that you will pick up one of these sometime in the coming weeks, the best bet to delay them is to put on those masks that you hate and want nothing to do with. Some residents in the area, have already begun pulling their masks back out.

If you have been out shopping, you may have noticed that there appear to be a few more people than normal wearing masks once again. This could be because they are trying to avoid giving something to others, or perhaps they are the smart ones and are trying to avoid some of the many diseases floating around. The masks were a menace, but they had a purpose. If there is one plus, they might keep your face warm during the winter. There is no requirement to wear them, but after having one of the bugs going around, and seeing my kids have some of them as well, if a mask could help avoid any more, it is worth it.

Be smart and do what you can to avoid illnesses this holiday season. Nobody wants to miss out on the festivities because they are under the weather, or feel like scum this time of year. There are too many germs and people out these days, so why not take every precaution possible? It might not be ideal, but at least through the holidays, it might be a good idea to put on those masks for a little bit.

Honest Twin Falls Welcome Signs

I'm pretty certain that most people don't fully understand what 'Twin Falls' actually means. On that note, if Twin Falls had an honest welcome sign: what would it say?
