NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — A 43-year-old cab driver in southwestern Idaho involved in a crash while on duty faces a charge of driving under the influence and having an open container in the vehicle.

The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that Jeffrey L. Knutson of Nampa was taken into custody Saturday after turning into the path of a 38-year-old woman on a motorcycle who sustained serious injuries. There were no passengers in Knutson's cab at the time of the crash.

Nampa Police say Knutson's breath alcohol content was over the excessive limit. He is being held in the Canyon County Jail without bail and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.
