I'm just throwing this out there: How much would you pay to pick your child's teacher?

I know for a fact that these requests happen all the time for a number of reasons. Sometimes you hear about a particular teacher who's really special. Other times, you hear about a teacher who's a complete nightmare and you'd prefer to avoid a possible conflict. Or maybe you're friends with a certain teacher or you know that their teaching style matches your child's learning abilities. I could go on and on... You get the point. There are simply occasions where a parent would like to be able to choose a teacher.

Have you ever wanted a particular teacher so bad that you'd be willing to pay for it and if so, how much?

I'm not saying this happened often but there were a couple of occasions during my children's school years that I would have paid plenty to pair my kids with a teacher and I might have been willing to pay even more to avoid a select few.

What if you could pay, say... $1000 to guarantee placement; would you do it? I know that our schools need the money and maybe they could give the teacher a little bit of that action. What better incentive for a teacher than a cash bonus from parents willing to pay extra for their efforts?

I'd love to know what you think about this. Leave a comment and let me know. Is this a great idea or one of the most ridiculous things you've ever heard?
