TWIN FALLS, Id (KMVT) - Asphalt repairs along Blue Lakes Boulevard and Addison Avenue are being delayed one day due to equipment scheduling for other work, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The work will begin Wednesday evening July 29 and extend through Friday morning.

The roadway-maintenance project will result in lane closures and short delays between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. on the U.S. 93 Business Route through Twin Falls. A small portion of work also will be performed on U.S. 30 in Buhl Friday.

The paving and patching work will involve removing approximately two inches of asphalt from the selected sections of the roadway and laying a surface of new asphalt.

The Blue Lakes locations will include portions of the southbound outside lane between Canyon Springs Road and Pole Line Road, at Caswell Avenue, the southbound right-turn near Filer Avenue, and the southbound right lane near Heyburn Avenue. Most of these areas will be completed Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Work on Addison Avenue will take place in the eastbound lanes at the intersection with Washington Street. Three lanes – including the northbound turn bay – west of the intersection, and the two eastbound through lanes, will be milled and replaced with a new driving surface. This portion of work is expected to be completed on Thursday night and Friday morning.

The contract also includes work on U.S. 30 in Buhl. Similar work will occur in the eastbound lanes between the Burley Avenue intersection to near the Ridley’s Family Market entrance. That work is expected to take place throughout Friday.

The roadway will be reduced to one lane in each direction around each work zone, but the roadway will remain open to traffic. Drivers should be prepared for bumps and uneven driving surfaces through each work zone.

Drivers are urged to be cautious near the construction zone and watch for crew members and equipment. ITD appreciates the patience and cooperation of those driving through the work zone.
