About Agri-Service

Agri-Service is the largest AGCO dealership in North America with eight retail locations and one independent service location across Idaho, Northern Utah, and Eastern Oregon. The Company employs over 130 people.

The Company carries a comprehensive line of new and used agricultural equipment including balers, tractors, combine harvesters, windrowers, and several short lines and equipment to service specialty or regional agricultural markets. The Company also offers repair and maintenance services and a vast parts inventory required to support an equipment purchase for the life of the product.

Agri-Service, Inc. was founded by Cleve Buttars in January 1990 when Mr. Buttars took over the Hesston agricultural equipment franchise in Twin Falls, Idaho and a satellite location in Elko, Nevada. In its first year of operations, the Company generated $2.3 million in total revenue.

In 1991, the Hesston line was acquired by AGCO Corporation from Fiat S.p.A. in order to comply with anti-trust issues after Fiat`s acquisition of New Holland construction and agricultural equipment. AGCO's acquisition of Hesston and a subsequent acquisition of Massey Ferguson in 1993-1994 made several additional brands available for distribution at the Company`s dealerships, including the Massey Ferguson tractor line. As a result of AGCO`s acquisitions, Agri-Service was encouraged to purchase the Massey Ferguson dealership in Burley, Idaho.

The Company opened a fourth location in 1993 in Buhl, Idaho, 20 miles west of Twin Falls.

In 1997, Agri-Service opened its fifth location in Nyssa, Oregon through the acquisition of the former Nyssa Implement. In 1998, the Company closed its Elko, Nevada location after determining it was more cost effective to service its Elko, Nevada customers from Agri-Service`s Idaho locations. Agri-Service continued to expand its reach through the addition of new stores in Logan, Utah in 2002; Weiser, Idaho in 2003; and St. Anthony, Idaho in 2005. The Company made its largest acquisition in February 2008 with the purchase of Simmons Equipment in Terreton, Idaho. This acquisition included an equipment dealership and an attached Ace True-Value hardware store. The most recent expansion occured in Eastern Utah. The AGCO franchise Challenger became available for purchase in late 2009. Agri-Service aquired Challenger for the new Roosevelt store in 2010, and added the brand to the list of available equipment in the Logan store. Agri-Service sells the Challenger, Massey Ferguson, Hesston brands out of the Roosevelt, Utah location. Agri-Service continues to look for opportunities to expand and grow its operation through out the region it services.
