Star Card

Idaho calls the card a STAR Card, Utah stuck with REAL ID, and Washington is calling it an Enhanced Driver License (EDL) or Enhanced Identification Card (EID).

If it seems like the Idaho Star Card has been in the headlines for years, it’s because it has.

The deadline has been pushed back several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now it’s creeping up on us.

It is a new license that you need to have if you want to fly in a commercial airplane or go into Federal government buildings.

The deadline to get the "Real ID" or the "Star Card" has been extended again. So if you are like me and have been procrastinating getting it, you have another almost 2 years to get it.

The star card will essentially replace your driver's license and the deadline to get it and still be able to do things like fly commercially is October 1st, 2021.

So go ahead and breathe easy knowing you can procrastinate even longer than you had originally planned to get your Idaho Star Card.
