The women thrive among thick, bluesy guitars that moan and wail throughout the 12 cuts. It's a throwback sound that fits the trio as well as the daring outfits they've become known for wearing.

Pistol Annies are slated to release their hotly-anticipated second album on May 7, and now the country trio have revealed the cover art and track listing for the record, which is titled 'Annie Up.'

New music is on the way from Pistol Annies, according to the group's most recognizable member. Miranda Lambert took to her official Twitter account this week to share the news that the 'Takin' Pills' trio is back in the studio working on their sophomore album.

The pop group Train isn't typically considered a cross-over country act, though the lead singer has worked with Martina McBride in the past. Now that they've teamed up with Pistol Annies' Ashley Monroe, they are making some concrete roads through the country genre. This week, the band premiered their music video for 'Bruises' which features Monroe.

The 2011 American Country Awards on Fox is quickly becoming another must watch live television broadcast. Top country talents like Blake Shelton, Pistol Annies and Trace Adkins are on the early list of performers. With over a month to go before the Dec. 5 ceremony, more names are sure to be announced.
