Before Marvel Studios' official panel later today at Comic-Con 2014, Marvel Animation gave a presentation that confirmed what we already suspected: the studio is prepping an animated 'Guardians of the Galaxy' series for Disney XD, which should help you bide the time between the first film and the planned sequel.

One of the shows we're looking forward to most is Marvel's new 'Agent Carter' series, based on the character from the 'Captain America' films. At the Marvel TV panel this evening at Comic-Con 2014, the studio revealed that 'Agent Carter' will definitely have some familiar help behind the scenes as 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' directors Joe and Anthony Russo will direct two episodes, while Marvel co-president Louis D'Esposito will handle the pilot.

One of the big rumors at Comic-Con is that Marvel's big announcement would be the casting of 'Doctor Strange'. Even Benedict Cumberbatch got in on the buzz, dropping hints during the DreamWorks Animation panel. But, if the 'Doctor Strange' casting was Marvel's big secret, the secret may have just been revealed. The Wrap is reporting that Marvel is in discussions with three-time Oscar nominee Joaquin Phoenix to star as their new superhero.

Family trees in the Marvel universe -- cinematic or purely comic book -- tend to be a little twisted. When it comes to James Gunn's upcoming 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' that's definitely still the case, thanks to a pair of adopted sisters that look poised to spend the film's runtime slowly moving away from each other and towards opposite ends of the personality spectrum, with plenty of hand-to-hand combat to keep things strange.

One of the films we're looking forward to the most at Comic-Con 2014 this week is Marvel's 'Ant-Man,' which recently picked up director Peyton Reed and writer Adam McKay -- not too shabby. Just a couple of days ago Marvel claimed dates for five untitled films between 2017 and 2019, but they're not done yet. On the eve of Comic-Con 2014, Marvel has announced yet another release date for yet another untitled mystery movie -- but we have a feeling we'll be hearing a lot more about these untitled projects this week.

Earlier this week, Marvel announced their schedule through 2019 and it included...well, a lot of dates. There's this movie -- just a space opera in the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- that's coming out next week: 'Guardians of the Galaxy.' Maybe you've heard of it. Late-night talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel is probably counting on that, because he basically let the cast of the film, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, run the show on last night's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live.'

'Guardians of the Galaxy' has already begun screening for press and the early word is that it's good, lives up to the hype, is the kind of movie that 'Star Wars' prequels should have been and so on and so forth. And that's all well and good, but this is a Marvel Studios movie so we have one big question: what about the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' post-credits scene...

It turns out that the character of Namor is so wrapped up in red tape that it's impossible to see when or if he could make it to he big screen from anyone.
