GOODING, Idaho (KLIX)-Magic Valley wildlife authorities are asking for the public's assistance in finding who left a number of waterfowl to waste near Gooding.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game said in a statement more than 150 snow and Canadian geese and mallard ducks were shot north of Gooding along State Highway 46 on Nov. 15. Conservation officers say none of the meat had been taken from the carcasses and left to rot.

Conservation Officer Trevor Meadows said in a prepared statement, “The birds were dumped prior to November 15th. This is an egregious situation of wasting waterfowl. If anyone witnessed a vehicle in the pull-off just north of the Camas and Gooding county line, please let us know a description of the vehicle or the occupants.”

If you have any information about this case of waste, call the Magic Valley Regional Office at (208) 324-4359, or the Citizens Against Poaching at 1-800-632-5999.
