Silent Hills/PT Website Removes Kojima Productions’ Logo

With Hideo Kojima possibly parting ways with Konami after the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, an update to Silent Hills' official website has us fearing for the worst.

According to GameSpot, all logos and mentioning of Kojima Productions have been removed from the official Silent Hills/P.T. website. The website used to feature the Kojima Productions team logo in the bottom-left corner of the page. Now, the icon for the Fox Engine has replaced it. The Fox Engine was developed by Kojima Productions for Konami and was used to bring Metal Gear Sold V: Ground Zeroes, The Phantom Pain and P.T. to life. Silent Hills was intended to be a collaborative horror project between Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro. Starring as the game's main character would be Norman Reedus, who is known for playing Daryl in The Walking Dead.

When asked for a status update on Silent Hills, including whether or not Kojima and del Toro would be still working on the project, a Konami representative responded with the following response:

"Konami has switched from a studio-based to a headquarters-based organization, so [Kojima Productions] wouldn't be listed as a studio anymore. At this time, there are no additional updates to share."

We're getting mighty tired of Konami trying to avoid the major question of whether or not Kojima will be remaining with the company after The Phantom Pain's release. Konami's dodging of the major question and its avoidant response, reassuring that Kojima will stay to complete The Phantom Pain, makes it more evident that the legendary developer will be walking into the sunset alongside Big Boss.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launches on Sept. 1 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Here's to hoping Kojima will still be working with del Toro in the future to bring Silent Hills to life.
