Part of the risk of being a police officer is pulling over strangers in cars. They must be prepared for anything, but discovering a baby monkey is a onesie in the back seat has to fall into the "unexpected" category.

I grew up watching shows like COPS. It's mind-blowing what some people are up to while operating a motor vehicle. A suspicious driver was pulled over recently in Central California and what was removed from his car is probably still being discussed by law enforcement officials throughout the state.

This story reminds me of something out of a Hangover movie.

Madera police pulled a man over last week for suspicion of driving under the influence, according to ABC 7 NEWS. When they removed the man from the vehicle they found a large amount of marijuana and a four-week-old Spider Monkey, according to WLBT 3 News. The vehicle being driven by the man was a Rolls-Royce.

Driving around with exotic animals in the United States is heavily frowned upon, and is illegal in most parts. A source reported that California Animal Control took the monkey due to it being illegal to possess one in the state. It was reportedly taken to a Bay Area zoo.

This story reminds me of something out of a Hangover movie. Please remember if you're going to be driving an automobile in California anytime soon, leave the weed and the monkey at home. You won't be the subject of jokes by police officers around the water cooler the next day if you do.
