A video posted on TikTok recently went viral, but it left some residents in Southern Idaho wondering if it was fake. To be fair, with the daily improvements in AI capabilities, it’s hard to tell sometimes.

I live in Twin Falls, where the video was allegedly recorded, and I had my doubts. It looks real, but there were a few little details that made me question. So I went to the actual location of the video to see if I could prove my suspicions. I was surprised when I got there by what I found.

Viral TikTok Dance Video in Twin Falls, Idaho: Was It Fake or Real?

The video was posted by the world-famous Abiud_Sando account on TikTok and has over half a million views. A fan asked the TikToker to go to Boise, but his video was recorded next to the Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls. I watched this video a few times, and it looks real enough, but it seemed like there were maybe shadows missing, and I thought the video could be old stock footage from the area. So I went to the exact spot in the video to compare. You can watch the video here, and then we’ll go through whether I believe it’s real or fake.

Do you think it’s real? I do. After watching the clip and then going there in person, I noticed a few things that are proof it was recorded in Twin Falls, with pictures below, and that it happened very recently.

At one point in the video after he does the backflip from the bench, his foot kicks a piece of grass. I doubt that would happen if it was recorded over a green screen. Standing in that location on the Canyon Rim Trail next to the bench looks exactly like the video. Here’s a picture from today.

Another sign that this was recorded recently is shown in the video. On the right side of the screen, while he’s flopping across the ground (which is still weird, even if the video is real), you can see a quick glimpse of the construction fence for the new hotel being built behind the visitor center.

I’m probably as surprised as any of the doubters, but I think this guy actually came to Idaho to film this video.

He also just posted a similar ‘flop on the ground’ video from a restaurant in Washington.

I could still be wrong, because AI is amazing, but I think it’s cool that he came through our town for this.
