Washington Driver Killed in Idaho Rollover Accident Near Utah Border
The first fatal accident happened just south of the Juniper Eastbound Rest Area near the Utah border. The rollover happened at 2:49 PM on September 20th on I-84 near mile marker 269. Idaho State Police are investigating the accident and were assisted at the scene of the crash by EMS and Fire crews from Snowville, UT.
In the report from the ISP, they share:
A 2004 Honda Pilot, driven by an 84-year-old male and an 82-year-old female, both from Seattle, Washington, was traveling eastbound on I-84 when the vehicle traveled into the median, where it overcorrected and rolled before it came to rest on the right-hand shoulder.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt but passed away at the scene of the accident. The female passenger was taken to a hospital.
My son and I were traveling to Utah and passed the accident right after it happened. It looked like a semi-truck and a moving truck had stopped to assist at the scene. The two emergency vehicles from Utah passed by us, headed towards the crash just a few minutes later.
