Young Driver Killed In Idaho Crash Near Boise: What Happened?
A teenage driver was killed and two other teens were injured in a head-on collision crash Thursday night in Idaho.
Idaho State Police are investigating the crash that happened on State Highway 44 near Star.
2 Juveniles Injured and 1 Juvenile Killed in Idaho Crash
The accident happened on SH44 near milepost 9, west of Star and northwest of Boise, on Thursday evening at 8:40. An adult driver was also injured in the crash.
A white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was driving westbound on SH44. The driver, a 30-year-old man from Middleton, crossed into the eastbound lanes to overtake a semi-truck. A juvenile, with two juvenile passengers, was driving eastbound on SH44 in a silver 2011 Ford Focus. The Chevrolet pickup struck the Ford Focus head-on in the eastbound lane of travel.
The driver of the Chevrolet was not wearing his seatbelt and was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. The two passengers of the Ford Focus were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Ford Focus succumbed to their injuries on scene.
The tragic accident blocked traffic in both directions for around 4 and a half hours. Idaho State Police will investigate the accident.
Accident Reported on I84 Eastbound Near Simco Road
A crash has been reported and can be seen on the Idaho 511 app on Interstate 84 near Simco Road at mile post 86. There hasn’t been an official report from police yet on the cause of the wreck or any details. 511 only comments that drivers should expect delays and drive with extreme caution.
