Fans of true crime are no stranger to the NBC show, 'Dateline', which airs weekly and covers various crimes that have taken center stage under national spotlights.

When it comes to the national spotlight--there is no arguing that one of the largest 'true crime mysteries' to take place in recent history, is the quadruple homicide that took place in Moscow, Idaho -- just feet from the campus of the University of Idaho.

Four innocent students brutally stabbed to death--a minimal amount of evidence left behind (or at least, as was shared with the public) and now, one suspect in custody set to face trial this August.

Ahead of the trial, the nationally televised show has announced they'll be discussing the case AND revealing never-before-seen details surrounding the murders.

Take a look at the breadcrumbs that NBC's Dateline has left us with in their latest 'teaser' ahead of Friday's special:

All of this makes the episode sound like there will be in-depth coverage

It's heart wrenching to look at the young students and think about how all of this happened--how NONE of it should have ever taken place.

Court documents continue to slowly release more information ahead of trial--but the things that Dateline claims to have such as new video of Kohberger's [alleged] car, phone records, and something about a pool party--seem to imply some bombshells could be on the way.

The episode will air on NBC on Friday, May 9th, at 7:00p.m.
