Boise Police Officer Goes Viral For His Amazing Skating Skills
In 2024, it's as important as ever to remember that police officers are not just enforcers of the law but also human beings with the same emotions, fears, and desires as anyone else. The importance of seeing police officers as humans is essential to the relationship between law enforcement and the community.
There's another side to law enforcement too!
Police officers leave their homes and families, not knowing how the day will go. They could face dangerous and life-threatening situations at any moment. They have to make split-second decisions that can result in life or death.
We often forget this when we encounter an officer or don't think about it when we're going a few miles over the speed limit before slowing down when seeing a patrol officer.
This is why we were thrilled to come across a video from the Boise Police Department that shows the human side of one of their officers, Officer Benavides.
The department, in celebration of National Skateboard Day on Friday, showed off Officer Benavides and his skateboarding skills.
The video shows Officer Benavides completing a variety of tricks at Rhodes Skate Park in full uniform. It's an awesome site to see and again, shows off the human side of our officers.
They have a life behind the badge and when they're not keeping us safe, they too like to enjoy their hobbies or in this case, show off some skateboarding skills.
Check out the fun and awesome video below and remember, it's okay to see our officers as fellow human beings of the community. We're not all that different at the end of the day.
