If you're here, it's probably because you're thinking of moving to Idaho.

Here's some advice: don't... just don't.

We're not "Closed" or anything but...

You've probably heard this about Idaho but many people like to say Idaho is "closed."

It's not, you could definitely move here... but you don't want to do that. A common perception is that Idaho is "cheaper" to live in than places like California and that maybe used to be true... but prices in Idaho and especially Boise continue to rise.

So, yeah, you could say that Idaho is closed because things aren't "cheap" anymore. Don't even get us started on grocery prices! We know of a particular family of five that averages $350 to $400 per grocery trip every few weeks. Does that sound inexpensive to you?

Also! The weather, while decent, isn't for you. You won't like it very much or you'll get tired of it faster than you will being called a "transplant" at every turn.

Boise State is cool but we don't have any professional sports teams in Idaho either.

Shoot - now that we think of it, Idaho is probably one of the most overrated states of all time. Good weather, vibrant college town, a stunning river that flows through Boise, four seasons, and stunning views throughout the state... you will HATE it.

That's why we compiled a list of alternatives for you to consider moving to instead. Trust us: you don't want to live in Idaho, try these places instead.

One more time, say it with us: "I don't want to live in Idaho."
