JEROME, Idaho (AP) — A former brand inspector has been sentenced to five years of probation for stealing from Producer's Livestock earlier this year. The Times-News reports that Justin Wayne Archer on Monday was also ordered to serve 500 hours of community service and to pay nearly $5,000 in fines and restitution.

Earlier this year, Archer pleaded guilty to grand theft for stealing money from Producer's Livestock with the help of one of that company's employees. The employee admitted to writing Archer a check for $6,571.91 from her employer's account.

Archer said he cashed the check and they split the money. Archer resigned as a brand inspector May 2, the same day he was arrested.
