BUHL, Idaho (KLIX) – Work will begin next week relocating utilities on a highway near Buhl in preparation for a larger road project later this year.

The Idaho Transportation Department says crews will begin relocating utilities on Idaho Highway 46 between 4200 North Road and 4300 North Road on Tuesday, Feb. 20, causing traffic to be reduced to one lane.

A portion of the highway shoulder will be removed and rebuilt, according to ITD. Drivers should expect short delays and watch for flaggers Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., while the work continues. Temporary traffic signals will be used after hours.

The work, which will be completed in the coming weeks, precedes a larger road paving and culvert replacement project that could begin as early as June. Additional work includes replacing curb ramps within the city of Buhl and guardrail upgrades.
