Dog the Bounty Hunter Hospitalized for ‘Heart Emergency’
Duane "Dog" Chapman has been hospitalized after suffering a "heart emergency," according to TMZ. The Dog the Bounty Hunter star is awaiting news on whether or not the medical issue will require surgery.
Chapman reportedly felt pain in his chest over the weekend (Sept. 14-15) and was taken to a hospital near his Colorado home. While TMZ does not classify the incident as a heart attack, they do note that it "might" have been one. Doctors are performing tests to determine exactly what occurred, and if Chapman will need corrective surgery because of the incident.
"I can confirm Dog is under doctor's care and is resting comfortably. Thank you for all of your well wishes- keep 'em coming," the reality star's rep says.
It's been a tough year for Chapman and his family: The TV star bounty hunter's wife Beth died in late June, following a battle with cancer.
The Chapmans rose to fame in the 2000s thanks to their A&E reality show Dog the Bounty Hunter, which chronicled Dog's work chasing fugitives, with Beth as his business partner. The show aired from 2004 until 2012, followed by its first spin-off, Dog and Beth: On the Hunt, which aired on CMT for three seasons. Another spin-off, Dog's Most Wanted, is in production for WGN, and Beth Chapman's cancer battle will be a prominent storyline.
