Coy Bowles of the Zac Brown Band is releasing a children's book. Will Powers: Where There's a Will, There’s a Way centers around the value of dedication and working hard to achieve one's goals.

The organist, guitarist and songwriter wanted to pass on to children the principles he grew up learning from his family, like perseverance and the power of believing in yourself.

“My parents instilled in me a foundation of confidence and hard work that I think is the main reason I’ve been successful,” Bowles explains in a press release. “If there is anything that I would like to give back, it is helping young people to find a sense of self through tenacity and perseverance.”

A portion of the proceeds from the book sales will be donated to the Atlanta-based nonprofit Sunshine on a Ranney Day, which renovates homes for special needs children. The First Lady of Georgia, Sandra Deal, recognized Will Powers as part of Read Across Georgia month in March.

The strong work ethic Bowles gleaned from his parents has paid off for him. He started playing guitar at age 11, attended Georgia State University in the Jazz Studies program and is now part of a Grammy-winning band. Written for children ages 4-8, Will Powers: Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way is available for preorder from Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Zac Brown Band is gearing up to kick off their sixth U.S. headlining tour, titled the Black Out the Sun Tour, beginning May 19. Drake White and the Big Fire will be joining the band for the run, which wraps in September. ZBB will also headline Country Jam 2016 in June.
