Prep your ears and your vocal chords for the upcoming changes to your Xbox One.

A post on Major Nelson's site gives us the rundown on an upcoming update for the Xbox One that will provide new audio controls and an opt-in setting to help improve voice recognition.

The update will begin with users in the early access program before rolling out to the rest of the Xbox One community in the middle of the month. New features will be added such as a sound mixer for apps with snap and volume controls when using Kinect with Chat. Feedback from users led to the inclusion of more control over audio levels and background sound.

You'll also be able to opt-in for speech data collection to help improve the Kinect's speech recognition. It's stressed that this is completely optional and that all of the voice data collected and shared will only be used for product improvement.

Look out for the update and enjoy the control over audio you'll receive.
