TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – An Xavier Charter School teacher who allegedly put tape over students' mouths has resigned, according to the school on Thursday.

The school started receiving reports on Feb. 16 that a teacher had taped students’ mouths shut and, according to the school, administration began looking into the allegations.

The teacher has resigned from her post.

According to the school, the teacher has not conducted class since the allegations were made. A substitute teacher has been filling in, and a teacher with a state teaching certificate will take over the class on Friday until the end of the school year.

Head of Schools Gary Moon declined to comment further on the incident, telling News Radio 1310, "I have not released the name of the teacher or details of the incident and have no plans to in the future."
