POST FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A Washington state man police say entered Interstate 90 in northern Idaho going the wrong way and caused a collision has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and other charges. Police took 30-year-old Matthew A. Paris of Spokane Valley, Washington, into custody Monday following the two-car crash at about 9:30 p.m. on a west-bound off-ramp in Post Falls. Police say the 1989 Jeep Cherokee driven by Paris collided with a 1997 Saturn station wagon driven by a 21-year-old northern Idaho woman. Emergency responders transported both drivers and a 6-year-old child in Paris' vehicle to Kootenai Health with non-life threatening injuries. Besides DUI, Paris is also suspected of driving without privileges, injury to a child, and possession of a concealed firearm while under the influence.
