Wood River Valley Woman Will Turn 110

Bellevue, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) -At 109 years old, Chrystal Harper has seen her fair share of birthday parties.Many of them planned by thoughtful community members, who make sure she’s well taken care of.

The Senior Connection provides Harper with caretakers and meals. They featured her on the cover of their community cookbook. Friendly neighbors stop by to check in and keep her company on holidays. Next week, Harper is turning 110. Chrystal Harper was born to the Uhrig family in 1905, in an area south of Bellevue, called Stanton Crossing.

Harper’s mother passed away when Harper and her siblings were young. They were raised by their father, William Uhrig. Harper lived in Boise for a time, which is where she met Ed Harper. They were married in 1924.
