‘Wolverine 3′ Gets a Writer and Confirms Hugh Jackman’s Return
Following yesterday's news from Fox that 'Wolverine 3' will be released in 2017, following 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' we now have even more news about the upcoming 'Wolverine' sequel, which seems to be picking up steam pretty quickly even though its release is still a few years away: Hugh Jackman will indeed return as your favorite Canadian mutant, and David James Kelly will be providing the script for the newest installment.
According to Deadline, Jackman will return for 'Wolverine 3,' marking what will be his ninth on-screen appearance as the superhero following 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' which will be hitting theaters first on May 27, 2016 under the guidance of director Bryan Singer -- Singer is also directing 'X-Men: Days of Future Past.'
Director James Mangold, who directed 'The Wolverine,' will return for the untitled, upcoming 'Wolverine' sequel, the third in the standalone film series for Jackman. David James Kelly, who was briefly attached to the 'Daredevil' reboot before the rights reverted back to Marvel, will write the script for 'Wolverine 3.' Kelly is also currently developing a script for 'Mind Management,' based on another comic book series.
