TWIN FALLS, Id. ( KMVT / KSVT ) An approaching upper level trough in the Pacific and a stalled out boundary system across southern Idaho will bring active weather to the region for the next 48 hours.

This has prompted a winter storm watch to be issued for southern Twin Falls County and Owyhee County. The watch will be in effect from Monday evening until Tuesday morning.

A coating to an inch of snow could accumulate on the valley floors. For mountain town locations, 2 to 5 inches of snow can be expected and up to a foot of snow for mountain peaks. Snow that does fall will be wet snow which could cause issues for Tuesday’s morning commuters. Be sure to give yourself extra time and reduce your speed & increase your following distance.
