BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A wildfire burning east of Boise has destroyed four structures and forced the evacuation of dozens of homes in the Grimes Creek area.

Department of Lands officials tell KTVB-TV that the fire has burned about 3,000 acres, and investigators believe it may be caused by humans. The blaze was first reported about 3:30 p.m. Saturday and has been spread by strong winds. The Boise County sheriff says homes are under evacuation orders in the areas of Macks Creek and Pine Creek.

People near Clear Creek and on the Highway 21 corridor north of Grimes Creek have been told to be prepared to leave if necessary. Authorities are asking people to avoid the area for safety reasons and let firefighters focus on the flames.
