You'll soon get the ability to pre-download upcoming Wii U and 3DS titles so that you can get your fiendin' hands on the action as soon as they're released.

According to IGN, Nintendo has just confirmed that the option to pre-download games is coming soon, with the first title to take advantage of the feature being Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U. This should make it even easier for folk who hate running to brick-and-mortar stores on Sundays to get their Nintendo fix.

Wii U and 3DS users can purchase digital titles using their Nintendo Network ID and password, which will then place the title on their system's queue. Once the street date for the title rolls around, it will already have been downloaded and available for play. No 3DS games will support the feature until 2015, so we'll just have to enjoy the ability to pre-downloaded Super Smash Bros on the Wii U for now.
