A tragic accident occurred earlier this month in Gooding County that claimed the lives of two and stranded Max, the family dog, in Idaho. Now officials are trying to get him home.

Wendell City Animal Control located the dog and informed the morning family in Texas that the dog had survived the crash. The family would like to have the dog brought back to Texas. The problem is that no state or local agency is prepared to pay the tab.

Stephanie Hendrix with the Wendell City Animal Control is collecting donations. She has been able to gather $150. According to KMVT Stephanie said the total cost needed amounts to about $650, and that doesn't include a airplane company approved dog cage. She is hoping that more people will be willing to donate. You can reach her at 420-6863.
