We Couldn’t Guess the Secret Behind This Miniature 777 Plane

The following video and pictures might prompt you to rethink your hobbies and cause you to run out to your nearest office supply store. It’s that amazing.

Luca Iaconi-Stewart is a huge fan of aviation. So huge, in fact, that he one day decided to sit down and work on a passion project that would end up taking five years for him to complete. As you might have surmised from the video above and the pictures below, his project has to do with a plane. Now, anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of paper-folding can create paper airplanes. Iaconi-Stewart took it several steps further and built a highly-detailed Air India Model 777-300ER — out of manila folders.

According to Time, the 777 Iaconi-Stewart crafted out of paper is a 1:60-scale replica that’s extremely accurate and even has retractable landing gear. It seems that he was inspired by models he had created in a high school architecture class that were also crafted out of manila folders. His process involved designing the plane in Adobe Illustrator, printing everything out onto manila, cutting out the components and then gluing everything together. It blows one’s mind to think about all of the time and effort that went into creating this amazing papercraft jetliner.

Watch the video above and see the rest of Iaconi-Stewart’s progress pictures here.
