GLENNS FERRY, Idaho (AP) — Idaho game wardens are seeking help finding somebody who poached a bull elk earlier this month near a southern Idaho reservoir. Department of Fish and Game officers say somebody shot the spike bull, a young male elk with unbranched antlers, during the first week of November at a site north of the Morrow Reservoir near Glenns Ferry in Elmore County. An inspection discovered the animal was killed with a .22 caliber rifle. Only the front shoulders and hind quarters were taken, with the rest of the animal being left to waste. People with information are encouraged to call the Jerome Regional Fish and Game Office, at 208-324-4359. There’s also an anonymous poaching hotline, 1-800-632-5999. Poachers who are apprehended and convicted risk losing their hunting privileges, fines or even jail time.
