We won't to get to see Blizzard's story of orcs vs. humans on the big screen for quite some time.

Due to its CG work mixed with how blockbuster-packed theater schedules will be for the next two years, the Warcraft film won't be debuting until 2016. In an interview with CraveOnline, Thomas Tull, CEO of Legendary Picutres, explained that pushing 'Warcraft' back to a 2016 release date was done in order to optimize its post-production phase and to avoid releasing the movie next to other blockbuster films, such as the superhero movies of both DC and Marvel Comics and especially 'Star Wars: Episode VII.' 'Warcraft' was originally slated to debut next to 'Star Wars: Episode VII' in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015. Of course, most movie companies are going to avoid trying to compete with one of the most influential and popular science fiction series of all time.

In regards to the two years of post-production 'Warcraft' will have, Hull said the following:

Well, part of it is getting the date right. As you may have noticed, these next two years, there’s pretty big titles coming out. We wanted to make sure that we got that right, but there are some sequences and some things that Duncan Jones has done that are truly on the cutting edge. You want to have plenty of time to make sure that we dial those in. So by the time they get home and set up, it’ll be a little less than two years. It’ll be about 20 months but we really want to take our time and get this right because the technology that’s employed really is some next generation stuff.

As of now, 'Warcraft' is scheduled to hit theaters on March 11, 2016.
