A lot of people think teachers have a cushy job. They get summers off and they’re done with school by three o’clock each day.  Do you think teachers have it easy? A survey by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation found that the average teacher stays after school for an hour and a half each day, then spends another hour and a half working at home – which means a 53-hour work week.  Not all teachers do extracurricular activities, but the ones who do add another 40 minutes a day, for a 56-hour, 40-minute work week.
