Undead Labs Extends Microsoft Development Deal

Undead Labs, the developers behind zombie survival title State of Decay, will be working exclusively with Microsoft for the foreseeable future thanks to a new deal.

The deal was announced over on the developer's blog, where founder Jeff Strain discussed in brief what it meant for the studio.

"I wanted to let you know we’ve signed a multi-year, multi-title agreement to extend our development relationship with Microsoft Studios," Strain said. "We’ll be able to share details later this year, but as with State of Decay, we think it’s best if we just keep our heads down and build some prototypes before we talk too much. For now, suffice it to say there are big things going on with State of Decay."

We're looking forward to learning just what this deal will lead to, as State of Decay was a challenging and enjoyable open-world adventure. Getting more State of Decay, particularly if it happens to be on the Xbox One, would be great news. Then again, a larger, more dynamic sequel on the Xbox 360 would be great, too. Perhaps Undead will have more to share at this year's E3, but for now, we'll just have to take Strain's word that big things are coming.
