Ubisoft Rolls the Dice on Hasbro Game Channel

Ubisoft has teamed up with Hasbro to bring enhanced versions of three of the most popular board games of all time to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 with the Hasbro Game Channel.

The Hasbro Game Channel will be downloadable on new-gen consoles this fall, and will offer three classic games; Risk, Trivial Pursuit and the best-selling licensed board game ever made, Monopoly. In addition to the standard games, Hasbro Game Channel will give players the ability to customize their games, add DLC content and earn Hasbro Game Channel currency that can be spent on a variety of rewards.

Monopoly will support up to six players, and players can use their phones or tablets to control the action. Instead of a static game board, Monopoly on HGC will be a fully animated, 3D experience, immersing players in the world of high-finance and real-estate development. Monopoly will allow players to customize the game rules, allowing hosts to implement their own house rules. Even more customization is available with the My Monopoly DLC, which lets players customize their game board with over 50 3D buildings that can be placed in the center of the board, and change the names of streets and other assets.

Risk, the original game of global domination, will also come to Hasbro Game Channel, offering four-player strategy action. Enhancements to the game will include videos and images that dynamically respond to players’ actions and the Integrated Reconnaissance and Intelligence System, which acts as a tutorial for new and advanced players. House rules will be available for Risk, but standard rules will apply when playing in competitive online leagues.

Trivial Pursuit will see the most enhancement and changes of all the games. The game will offer various game formats and round types, making the game more fun for all players. Trivial Pursuit will also allow players to determine the length of their play-sessions.

While the Hasbro Game Channel will only be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the individual games will be available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No prices or release date have been announced, but we’ll be sure to update you with any new info as soon as it becomes available.
