Best In Class: Two Magic Valley High Schools Awarded Grants

Kimberly High School

Eight Idaho schools have won $100,000 grants from the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation in an effort to increase the number of kids who attend college or other post-secondary training.

The schools were chosen out of 55 after competing in several categories, including increasing the number of  students taking college preparatory exams and upper-level math and science coursework.

The foundation’s executive director Jamie MacMillan said all 55 schools that participated worked hard, and she hopes their efforts will make a significant difference in the number of students who continue their education after graduating from high school.

Two of The winning schools are local and include Canyon Ridge High School and Kimberly High School.
