Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV) - A Twin Falls Teen is facing felony Attempted Robbery and Battery charges after a woman told police that he had attempted to forcibly take her car.

Jacoby Ray Stites, 18, was arraigned Thursday on the charges.

A woman told authorities that on May 28th at around 3:20 p.m. she was northbound in the 100 Block of Blue Lakes Blvd when a male, later identified as Stites, attempted to take her vehicle. According to a police statement, when she tried to lock her doors and roll up her windows, the suspect opened the car door and tried to forcibly remove her. The woman told police she was fearful Sites would take the car, which had her small children in the back seat.

Eventually the woman was able to push Stites away. He then reportedly reached into the back waistband of his pants causing the victim to fear he possibly had a weapon. According to a court document Stites pulled his hands out with two fingers pointing at her and said “Bang” and left. The woman said he looked high on drugs and seemed “crazy.”

On Sunday, May 30, she was at the City Park and was able to identify the suspect. Police later made contact with him. The suspect claimed he was high on DABS or marijuana oil at the time. Stites told authorities he remembered trying to take the vehicle and felt like he was outside of his body.

On Thursday, bond was set at $50,000 and a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 12, 2015.
