Thank you to everyone who came out this past Saturday for our 2nd annual Bras Across The Canyon. Together we raised $350 for the Wellness Tree Community Clinic who will spend that money specifically on those suffering with breast health issues and whom are under-insured here in the Magic Valley.
The event was fun and easy, just bring a buck and a bra. The money stayed local and the bras were donated to a local women’s shelter, thanks to Jonie Benson from the Wellness Tree Community Clinic for handling that.
October is breast cancer awareness month and the deal is, every women over the age of 40 needs to get a yearly mammogram. Also, every single person should do a monthly self-breast exam. One in eight women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. Those scary stats are not a death sentence though, because early detection saves lives. Your odds are not in your favor, so check yourself every month.
