The Twin Falls Police Department is accepting applications for the Citizens Academy, which will provide citizens with an in-depth and behind the scenes look at what it takes to protect the City of Twin Falls.

Citizens in the academy will participate in classroom presentations, live demonstrations and meet with local law enforcement officials. The four-week academy will begin March 5th, with sessions being held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Classes will cover topics such as Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T), K-9, patrol, detectives, evidence collection and several other areas of law enforcement.

All interested candidates must submit an application no later than Feb. 25. All candidates must undergo a background check, live or be employed in the City of Twin Falls, be at least 21 years of age, have no prior felony convictions and no misdemeanor arrest within six months of application.
