
Twin Falls Man In Custody After Hostage Situation
A Twin Falls man remains in the Twin Falls county jail after police say he held an ex-girlfriend hostage early Sunday morning.
Police say that around 1 a.m. on Sunday, they received a 911 call saying a man with a gun had just entered an apartment on 2nd Avenue North, taken the woman hostage and barricaded them both in a bedroom. The suspect was later identified as 35 year old Nathaniel Edward Hanes of Twin Falls. Hostage negotiators began talking with Hanes around 2 a.m. and Twin Falls City and County SWAT teams were called to the scene. Around 6 a.m., Hanes surrendered to police without incident and was taken into custody. The woman was found safe and unharmed.
