BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Twin Falls man has claimed a $1 million Powerball prize won in the Oct. 9 drawing. Idaho Lottery officials say Jeremy Spells claimed his prize Tuesday. He bought his winning ticket at Gowen Road Chevron in east Boise.

Spells says he works in both Twin Falls and Boise and occasionally picks up a lottery ticket. When he checked his ticket at a retailer, they told him to bring it to Boise.

He didn't believe it, so he called the winning numbers hotline dozens of times to make sure. He says it even took him a bit to convince his wife when she returned home from Bible study. The couple plan to pay off their house and their car and invest the rest.
