Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Twin Falls County is joining the Idaho Public Retirement Service, also known as PERSI. In a 2 to 1 vote on Friday, Twin Falls County Commissioners approved the move. PERSI provides retirement, disability, survivor and other benefits to more than 135,000 members. The switch would make it easier for the county to hire new employees who are already members. But the change will come with a cost.

A onetime buy–in can be as much as $1 million, with annual contributions coming close to $600,000. The exact cost won't be known until PERSI does an official analysis of the county.
