TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) Twin Falls County and the regional 911 center will be verifying the physical addresses of homes for better response to emergencies in the next few months. The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office and Southern Idaho Regional Communications announced they have contracted Geo-Comm, Inc. to survey and collect physical addresses for a map that will be used at SICOMM for 911 emergencies. The company has sent out field technicians to collect and verify address locations throughout the county and will do so from now until December. The sheriff’s office says the technicians will be driving a specifically marked Hyundai Santa Fe with GeoComm and 9-1-1 logos. The surveyors will only need to verify the address and will not need to speak to the resident. However, the sheriff’s office notes that if the address on the property is not clearly marked or not posted the tech may talk to the resident to verify the address. County residents are advised to post their addresses to avoid talking with a GeoComm representative. Flyers will also be left behind if the home owner is not there. The field techs may pull into a driveway without contacting the residents and pull out. The sheriff’s office says the information will be confidential. If you have any questions you can contact SIRCOMM at 208-324-1344.
