Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The Twin Falls City Council and the parks and recreation department are looking to increase safety along the canyon rim trail.

Many sections of the trail have fences to keep people away from the edge, but concerns were raised that other sections could use fences as well. The parks department plans to add around 350 feet of fence, however the city council would like to explore the option of other fence materials before construction begins.

"There's some areas of the canyon rim where the trail is a good 20 to 30 feet from the rim and people just have to use common sense and know that it's a canyon, they should be careful if they have young kids out there. If they have dogs that dogs should be on leash,” said Parks and Recreation Director Dennis Bowyer.

Bowyer will return to the city council in a few weeks to discuss fencing options moving forward.
