‘True Blood’ Season 7: HBO Renews for Another Fang-Banging Year!

True Blood Season 7 HBO Renewal
HBO

Good news for ‘True Blood‘ fans, and especially those on their way to the bloodsucking HBO drama’s Comic-Con 2013 panel this year: Sookie Stackhouse and her supernatural stories will officially return next summer. HBO has announced their ‘True Blood’ season 7 renewal, but will anything change about the fang-banging drama, following the behind-the-scenes turmoil of the current year?

According to HBO’s press release, Brian Buckner will return as showrunner for ‘True Blood’ season 7, having replaced writer Mark Hudis early into production, after series creator Alan Ball’s departure from the series. ‘True Blood’ continues to garner in excess of 10 million viewers per episode, though it has not been announced if ‘True Blood’ season 7 will return to its 12-episode order, or keep with a reduced 10 that began with star Anna Paquin’s real-life pregnancy this year.

“’True Blood’ remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers,” said HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo. “Thanks to Brian Buckner and his talented team, the show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV.”

The current season of ‘True Blood’ has aired precisely half of its 10 episodes, following last night’s “F— the Pain Away.” Near of the entire cast will be present for the Comic-Con 2013 panel later this week.

Well, what say you fang-bangers? Are you stoked for another taste of ‘True Blood’ when the show returns in 2014 for a seventh season? Give us your thoughts in the comments, and check back later in the week for all the Comic-Con updates.
