Troy Gentry’s wife, Angie, has breast cancer. The Montgomery Gentry singer and guitarist shared the news with fans on Wednesday night (Oct. 22), adding that the last few weeks have been very difficult for his family.

Angie’s diagnosis came just before Montgomery Gentry announced the Check Your Headlights campaign for breast cancer awareness earlier this month. Their new song ‘Headlights’ is part of a bundle available at GhostTunes. Proceeds from sales of the bundle will go to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Gentry says Angie is going through chemotherapy, and thankfully, her prognosis is very good. “We’d love for you to keep her in your prayers over the next few months,” he adds.

This isn’t the first time cancer has struck the Montgomery Gentry family. In 2010, Eddie Montgomery announced he was battling prostate cancer, which he successfully beat. Troubles struck Gentry earlier this year. In June, his brother, Keith, died suddenly.
