New ‘Transformers 4′ Poster: On the Run From Really Big Robots

Transformers 4 poster
Paramount Pictures

The ‘Transformers’ films have operated under director Michael Bay with one basic credo: “Giant F—ing Robots.” (It’s true! We actually have a cast and crew t-shirt with that printed on the back.) This new ‘Transformers 4‘ poster certainly lives up to that motto as stars Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz beat foot to avoid – what else? – a giant f—ing robot.

To be fair, this looks like it could be a giant spaceship. But, in the world of ‘Transformers’, it’s very possible this robot spaceship also transforms into a giant robot.

What looks to be happening here, and in ‘Transformers 4′ as a whole, is that Wahlberg’s character (who’s name is Cade Yaeger, if you can believe that) accidentally stumbles upon a hibernating Optimus Prime. This giant spaceship somehow tracks Prime to this location and arrives looking to find him and probably just as happy to kill anyone that gets in its path.

This new ‘Transformers 4′ poster comes on the heels of Wahlberg hosting Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards this weekend, which will probably serve as a very long commercial for ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ which opens in theaters on June 27, 2014.
