UPDATE: Train Crash in Jerome County Claims Jerome Man

At approximately 2:15 Wednesday afternoon a westbound train struck an SUV  on the driver's side resulting in the death of a Jerome man.

Before being able to come to a complete stop, the train pushed the SUV vehicle westbound several hundred yards.  The Jerome County Sheriff's office reports that 64 year old Jesse Linch of Jerome died at the scene.  Police theorize that Linch did not see the train approaching and failed to stop for the signals.
